Roll 41

This is the final roll from this series. I was shooting with Kodak Gold 400 and pushed it one stop too 800. I usually shoot Portra, but wanted to try something new. I picked up a pack of this film on Amazon. This is the same stuff I grew up shooting in my teens! I feel the colors are a bit different from my normal work, but I loved the challenge of shooting with it in low light situations. The bathroom shots in this roll are some of my favorite. When I got this roll back I started to realize it's a good thing to leave your comfort zone and made me want to try shooting different types of light.

It's been a goal of mine to be more consistent here and I'm thrilled I've been making that happen lately. Plus, I really enjoy having an outlet to share my personal film work and receive feedback from you guys. I have some fun projects coming up that I'm excited to announce this summer. Two rolls down from this shoot and one more to go! This roll has one of my favorite images I've ever taken. I love getting a roll back and being completely surprised with a certain shot. Film photographers always say getting their photos back feels like Christmas morning and it's totally true! If you haven't tried shooting film before I highly recommend it. You can pick up point&shoot film cameras for super cheap! You can probably even find a family member that has one. Another option is to purchase a disposable film camera online or even at your local pharmacy such as Walgreens or CVS.
