Shooting film might have become my new addiction! It doesn't help that I asked for some film for Christmas, so now that's it's readily available I want to capture everything I see with it! This is the first roll of b&w film that I put through my new Leica M7. It was a roll of Kodak tri-x 400 that I pushed +1 stop to 800.
I must say I was very excited to get back to shooting b&w film. When I was in high school I learned the basic rules of photography with this format. I developed all my own negatives and made my own prints in b&w and sadly when I finished these classes I basically never shot b&w film again. Lately with my digital portrait work I have fallen in love with b&w, but I miss the true look of b&w film.
Some of my favorite images from this roll are from the Cavalia Odysseo performance I went too in San Francisco. It's basically a Las Vegas style performance much like Cirque du Soleil. The sold out performance blew me away and I snuck these photos without looking through the viewfinder.
And if you all are wondering, I think I'm going to blog each roll I put through my camera. I figure it'll be a great way to share my film work and hopefully it'll spark some interest in you guys to give film a try.
